AboutGianna Viola, lcsw
welcome
For over 10 years, I have been working with adults, teens, children and families in the Austin area to help them realize positive changes in their lives and relationships. I
have worked with clients at Austin State Hospital, Communities in Schools, SafePlace, Whole Woman's Health, and Child and Family Service (now part of LifeWorks). I have been in private practice for 5 years, and I focus on working with folks who are facing major life transitions, depression and anxiety, relationship and sexuality issues, or challenges of adolescence.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Texas, having obtained my Master's Degree in Social Work from the University of Texas at Austin. Prior to that, I received my undergraduate degree in American Studies at Wesleyan University in Connecticut. I chose the Social Work field because it fits with my values and my approach to working with people. Social workers view our clients as the experts in their own lives, seek to understand individuals in the context of their larger social environments, and advocate for equality and social justice as a necessary piece of our work.

I also enjoy the teaching role. I have been a field instructor for Master's level Social Work students in several clinical settings, and I offer clinical supervision to Social Workers seeking their advanced licensure.
